Baked dishes reveal the abundance of autumn's ingredients like figs, eggplant, tomatoes and peppers among others, and recipes such as a fig tart with caramelized onion highlight the pleasures of cooking with them. There are more savory baking recipes like the eclair made with tomato and basil, a potpie with ratatouille and cornmeal biscuits, and more.
